The township supervisor serves on a board that overseas the running of the township. As part of the communities government, the Township Supervisor’s Statutory Duties include moderating board and annual meetings, chief assessing officer, secretary to board of review, township legal agent, must maintain records of supervisor’s office, responsible for allocating board budget, developing township budget, appoints some commission members, may call special meetings, and may appoint a deputy. They are elected to their post and are therefore viewed as community leaders.
